Overview

A team can be registered on events.vex.com by completing a few steps. Team registration establishes a team’s eligibility to participate in official VEX Robotics competitions and provides access to events, rankings, Robot Skills Challenges, and championship qualification opportunities.

Before a team can be registered, the coach, mentor, or other adult associated with the team must first create a free account on events.vex.com. Each account must use a unique email address, and all users must be at least 13 years old.

Organizations may register as many teams as they would like. Each team must be registered individually and renewed each competition season.

Maintaining existing team numbers from season to season is recommended whenever possible because it:

  • Preserves team history and accomplishments.
  • Maintains continuity for students, coaches, and organizations.
  • Simplifies event registration and recordkeeping.
  • Preserves historical data and rankings.
  • Reduces confusion for volunteers and Event Partners.

Team numbers are associated with the team’s Primary Coach. When a team needs to transfer to another organization or coach, only the current Primary Coach can begin the transfer process.

Requirements

Before registering a team, ensure you have the following information available:

  • An active events.vex.com account.
  • Organization information, including the organization name and location.
  • Team number information for either a new or returning team.
  • Primary Coach contact information (required)
  • Secondary Coach contact information (not required)
  • Financial Contact information (required)
  • District Administrator information (not required)
  • Grade level information
  • Program selection information
  • A valid payment method
  • Student eligibility information in accordance with the current competition rules.

Having this information prepared in advance will help ensure the registration process is completed efficiently and accurately.
