Award Requirements Quick Reference

The Award Requirements Quick Reference summarizes what it takes to earn each award offered at a VEX Robotics Competition event, in a single printable table. It is written for Judge Advisors, judges, and Event Partners who select and present awards at a VEX Robotics Competition event.

Every award starts from the same common eligibility requirements: the team has completed registration, participates in its scheduled matches, passes inspection, follows event rules, and demonstrates authentic, student-centered participation. A team may earn only one Judged Award per event, but may also earn Performance and Nominated Awards.

The quick reference groups the awards into four categories, with the specific requirements to earn each one. Performance Awards are earned through match and Robot Skills results. Judged Awards are determined through the event's judging process. Nominated Awards are earned through nominations for a team's conduct and spirit at the event, and Recognition Awards are selected by the Event Partner to honor mentors, teachers, partners, and volunteers. An award is not presented when no candidate meets its published criteria.
